The Shaw Family’s ongoing quest for quality fruit for their wines led them from the earths of McLaren Vale to the region of complementary flavour and taste synergies, traversing the Mount Lofty Ranges to Currency Creek. Emetior recognises this journey.
Sourced from vineyards over 65 years old and matured in American and French oak hogsheads for 30 months, this shiraz begins with smokey vanillin oak and goes through the spectrum of chocolate, coconut, violets, peppers and prune, to a full, rounded palate and finishes with elegantly balanced tannins.
Big, bold & beautiful. These 80 year old McLaren Vale vines produce a small parcel of exceptional fruit, the quality of which stands out in some vintages, depending on the growing season. It is only in these years that we bottle a small run of this wine.
