Grape Growing
Budburst
Preliminary yield estimates are carried out at this time, based on the percentage of bud burst or shoot numbers. Soil moisture levels are carefully monitored during this critical time.
Flowering
Petiole (plant nutrition) tests are carried out at this time to plan for the following season.
Fruit Set
Vine balance noted, including canopy density, size and number of bunches, internode length, and fruit set.
Veraison (Colouring)
Field assessments including sample collection and bunch weights commence in preparation for the upcoming vintage. Irrigation is carefully controlled to maximise fruit ripening. Preparations for harvest commence in the vineyard.
Harvest
Grape sampling is carried out on a routine basis to determine optimal picking time for each block. The grapes are harvested in the vineyard by our viticulture team using mechanical harvesting methods.
Pruning
Each block is individually assessed by Vineyard and Winery management. After assessment has been made, the vines are pruned based on winery requirements for optimum grape quality and yield.
